Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children." (Matthew 19:14)
We are here to welcome all children, and assist parents and families in teaching children: "When we put God first, everything falls into its proper place."
Parents are a child's #1 teacher. Attending Mass and helping your children understand its meaning is the most precious gift you can give them.
We offer the following programs for additional religious education:
CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD (CGS): Kathy McKernan, 816-537-6990
Our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program is a unique Montessori based program that takes Jesus from a child's head to their heart. Classes are currently held on Wednesday evenings from 6pm-7:30pm. Three to twelve year old students learn in a spiritual environment called an Atrium. Visit www.cgsksmo.org for more information about this unique program.
CHRISTIAN FORMATION PROGRAM (CFP): Kathy McKernan, 816-537-6990
Our Christian Formation Program provides spiritual education for the children of Holy Spirit. Kindergarten through Fifth grade meet on either Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM. Both CGS and CFP are excellent programs, each is tailored to a child's learning style. Call or email Kathy McKernan at the Parish Office if you have any questions, or would like to volunteer.
